Your pregnancy journey is sacred. Janani is built on a foundational promise: your data belongs to you, it stays in India, and we will never sell or misuse it.

1. What we collect

We collect information you give us directly: your name, phone number or email address, pregnancy stage, and preferences you set within the app. We also collect usage data (which features you visit, how long you spend) to improve the product, and device data (OS version, device type) for compatibility purposes.

We do not collect precise GPS location. We may ask for your state or city to personalise regional content such as certified Vaidyas or hospital recommendations near you.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used to:

  • Personalise your week-by-week guidance to your exact pregnancy stage
  • Power the multilingual AI companion so it responds in your preferred language
  • Recommend verified mother circles in your region
  • Send you reminders and updates you have opted into
  • Improve the product through anonymised, aggregated analytics

We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent. We do not run behavioural advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties under any circumstance.

3. Data storage and security

All personal data is stored on servers located in India. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access within our team is role-based and audited.

4. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or permanently delete all data we hold about you. You can do this in two taps from your account settings, or by writing to us at privacy@myjanani.com. We will fulfil your request within 30 days.

5. Children's privacy

Janani is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

6. Cookies

Our website uses essential cookies for session management and analytics cookies (anonymised) to understand how visitors interact with the site. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time without affecting core functionality.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will notify you in-app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
